Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F. Grease one bunt pan.
Mix together and stir every few minutes for 15 minutes:
1.5 cups corn meal 2.5 cups of milk
Sift together:
2 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cup granulated sugar 6 tsp baking powder 2 tsp salt
Beat with a fork:
2 eggs
Stir into cornmeal mixture with:
1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted shortening
Add to dry ingredients and stir until combined.
Pour into greased cake pan. ( Do not fill more than 2/3 full) Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and allow to cool for approx 1 hour before serving.
