Val, me again! Would it be okay if I published two stories here, that are on YGS..... Not 'personal' ones, but the two that have a S African 'flavour'? I notice that 'overseas' people tend to like that sort of thing (?)
Will post my most recent ... Ahem.... accomplishment soon too. Still trying to figure out a suitable title. A personal experience, but the 'meat' of it was also set in the bush.
Lol Val! I haven't published that account yet, as I would like to post a picture to go along with it. My problem; I don't have one on my hard drive, and I haven't seen my 'teacher' for a while to ask him how to get one off of the net. Hopefully, it will be in this coming week.
In the meantime, I have another question. Do you good folks have 'rusks' over there? If so, I have a recipe. I could put it under "Breads"?
We also call the stuff we run our gas stoves on 'gas', short for natural gas. It isn't liquid like the gasoline we use in cars, but very flammable. Some folks out in rural areas use a bottled gas called propane for their stoves, some also use it for barbecue grills. The thing is natural gas has no smell, and the gas company adds an odor to it.
Thanks Val, that was just idle curiosity! We too, have bottled gas to run emergency lamps from. On occasion, in summer, lightening strikes cause power cuts. We also have a little 2 plate gas cooker for such times ~ sometimes the power can be off for 12 hours or more.
